Stickers can be printed in many different finishes and cuts. Identifying these details early will help you create your design.
Different ways to cut stickers
There are two main ways to cut stickers: die cut and kiss cut.
Die cut stickers are cut to fit the exact shape of the sticker. This can be as simple as a circle or square, or as complex as a wobbly blog or the delicate leaves of an illustrated plant. Using this method, both the sticker and its paper back are cut to the same shape.
Kiss cuts are made through the top sticker layer instead of the paper back. When the sticker is removed, the backing and border are left behind. This method can be used to create stickers with multiple designs.

Types of sticker finishes
Stickers can have different looks and feel, depending on what they are printed on.
The most common types include:
glossy paper or vinyl
matte
holographic
mirror
Holographic Flash
Prismatic
clear
Stickers printed on different materials will look different. For example, fine details may look better on matte stickers, while holographic stickers are better for bold designs. You may want to try different finishes before using one for any given sticker.
